Quick Tidbit

Okay, so this will be quick. On Saturday morning in Jamie's baseball game vs. the Tigers he hit his first home run ever! It was the top of the fifth inning and he slugged one into the outfield. He started trucking around the bases and made it in for a solo HR! He also hit one way into right field at his first at bat. It's like all of a sudden, he's connecting right-so it's pretty neat. We ended up losing, but the boys had a great time--it was just a really fun game.

He also got the game ball--as seen in this picture.

Take care.

Hello Hello...

Hello everyone and a Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there! I had a wonderful mother's day--nice and lazy...first church, then lunch out, getting to watch golf & play my X-Men video game, then ordering pizza! James & Jamie without a doubt, gave me gifts in the funniest way. They hid them and said I would find them where a good wife & mother should be. It was hilarious--Jamie's gift was in the washing machine & the oven and James's was in bed under the covers:) Anyhow, it was really funny and had me laughing for quiet awhile.
Now, let's see what's been going on the past couple of weeks. Jamie continues to play baseball, but it will be done by Memorial Day weekend. Last Thursday he had a nail biter of a game-they won by one run in the bottom of the sixth (and had to score five runs to do so!). I was scorekeeper and even got shushed by the ump because I was yelling too loud. Anyway, once baseball is over we'll spend a few weeks re-figuring out what to do with all this time we have!

Also, it's getting really close to the end of Kindergarten for Jamie. I can't believe it went by so fast, but I'm assuming that's the way it will be until he graduates. Now we're looking forward to our trip up to WA on July 4th. Jamie's very excited about the fireworks and having grandpa make rootbeer floats. I think we're going to get to stay for 4 or 5 days, so that's pretty neat. Plus, James, James & I are going to see an M's game vs. Baltimore on the 6th and we haven't been to a game in ages (at least not at Safeco).

Speaking of WA, I just got back from being up there for 2 days. Sarah & I flew up on April 22nd and came back on the 24th. The whole purpose of this quick trip was wedding planning. Let me tell you, I have never had so many appointments packed into so little time. But boy, did we accomplish a ton! The second day we were they we were seriously scheduled from dawn til 9:30pm. It was crazy. But fun and productive. The night we got back at 9:30pm, we still had cake testing to do after a very late dinner. Some of the cake was great-and the one we all were hoping was good tasted like garbage. I mean really, really, really bad. We also had champagne to try. Turns out dad & champage do not mix. After two tiny, sherry sized glasses of it, he was groaning and ready to pass out! Mom on the other hand, decided she would try on Sarah's 4" heels. She walked like Tina Turner:) I have video, but I'm not that mean, so I posted a picture instead!
I was really proud of Sarah for making such good decisions on the quick--especially since she can be somewhat slow [shall we say discerning instead? I think it might sound nicer:) ] at making decisions. She ended up deciding everything though-with the exception of a color item on the table. She even decided favors, etc. Wowee--great job Sarah! And, on the plane ride home we had two hours of the best brainstorming ever. I don't want to spoil the fun for guests coming to the wedding, so I'll just say this will be a very memorable part of the reception hall. :)

And last, but not least, I saw the new X-Men Wolverine movie and it's awesome. Some of the best comic book action ever. And I've been playing the video game tie-in on the ps3 and it rocks. Very violent and realistic, but it truly lets the player feel the lethalness of Wolverine's adamantium claws. I highly recommend it to all you X-men fans out there. Secondly (or thirdly if you count the game), I just finished reading a hilarious book-Pride & Prejudice & Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith. Pride & Prejudice is one of my all time favorite books and movies, plus I love zombies so I thought it would be pretty funny. I was not disappointed. The adding of zombies and martial arts, etc. made the book enjoyable from a whole different pov. It was great and if you have a sense of humor and like Austen, then I would pick it up.

Next of course, is pictures.
Thought this was a great picture of Jamie looking very much like James.

Sarah looking ferocious in James' coyote hat.

My favorite photos of Jamie & Sarah are of them doing stuff together--like playing one awesome round of army men!

One of very few moments of downtime--on the ferry to Oak Harbor for a meeting with the hairstylist. My hair looks like it's attacking Sarah, and she very much looks like Bella.

Trying on a veil--I actually don't recall if she's decided on wearing one or not.

Cool picture of mom on the beach. Pictures like these two and the next one of the beach really
make me miss the particular beauty of Washington.

Had to put this one of Sarah and her love of fringe at the moment...and of course, dad with feathers trying to be funny:)

Take care everyone. Until next time-later.
