All right, so I know I promised day by day photos of the black-eye, but it just didn't work out. I did take photos, just didn't post them. So here they are. We've just been busy with baseball (of course) and Easter and spring break. Today was Jamie's first day back from Spring Break. James was working nights on Easter, so Jamie & I went over to Kara & Tony's (longtime family-friends). And of course, Jamie got injured, twice. We were playing catch and I threw him a ball that bounced right into his black eye (I know, I'm awful). So his black eye kind of spread. Then, Tony gave Jamie a razor scooter, which he loved, and while trying to learn to ride it he took a crash dive on his elbow and bruised both the outside and inside tissue. It was rough. It's just now at the stage of turning yellowish-green. Other than that, we had a good time. Jamie really enjoyed playing with Cody-they just clicked. They also got to go on an Easter egg hunt in which Tony placed all of his change jar change into the eggs. Jamie ended up with a little over $3 for his piggy bank. Boy, was he excited:)
For spring break we pretty much just hung around and did nothing. Jamie & I did a lot of puzzles and completed our first 500 piece puzzle together. There's a few more at the store that we plan on getting and completing. I think it's kind of a cool thing for us to do together and I hope that since we constantly do puzzles, it will become our thing. It's also pretty neat to watch Jamie get so excited over completing a puzzle and being able to do them.
Today was a scorcher--it was in the 90's! Tomorrow will be the same...and then on Wednesday I get to go up to WA and freeze my heine off! The weather channel said it's supposed to be in the 50's.....the 50's for heaven's sake! Seriously, I may just freeze while I'm up there.
I'm staying busy being the team mom in baseball--there certainly is more to it than I thought. I mean, most of it is communication, but there's a lot of it!
April 16 was James's 30th birthday, so we celebrated by going out to dinner at La Pinata with friends. In the picture below, you'll see the awesome gift Ault got James...a genuine coyote hat. Wow.
I've included a few photos of Jamie's black eye, Jamie @ Easter and other random

Black eye, Fundraiser Prize, and Easter Egg Dyeing
Like I said in the last post, I will update with day by day photos of Jamie's wonderful black eye. He woke up this morning and was excited that he could sleep on his black eye side "softly" and it didn't hurt. He's had no pain, but it was definitely puffy this morning around the eye, but not as swollen and is turning a nice shade of blue. All in all it looked much better than I thought it would. And of course now he's looking at it as a cool 'shiner' and likes to say what daddy taught him "You should see the other guy". He's especially looking forward to when it turns greenish, so he can be like The Hulk.
Next up is a video of Jamie in the money machine at school. He got second place in his fundraiser-thanks to everyone who got something! He had 30 seconds in the money machine and he got $29 plus a free candy bar from the school store (which of course, he was the most excited about at the time-he got a Milky Way today). With his winnings, he wanted to save half and spend half on a Ben 10: Alien Force Omnitrix (looks like a watch). He's wanted this for about four months now so we got one at WalMart for $11. He's very excited and he still had a few dollars leftover for his wallet.

Lastly, we dyed easter eggs tonight since James goes on nights tomorrow. Jamie was pretty excited-we had a Transformer themed egg kit I got last year on clearance. Note to all moms--the dudley dye brand color red does not hold up after a year. All the other colors were fine, but the red wouldn't break down to make a nice red-just ended up using the other four colors. Anyhow, back to the egg dyeing. Jamie was having such a good time that he left James with one (yes, just one) egg to color. So James made a Black Eye egg that was blue and green--wonderful!

You can't really see it, but the egg does say Jamie on it.
James being weird with his Daddy egg--and yes, the egg says Daddy (Jamie made it, but he wrote really light so you can't really see it)

So enjoy the photos and video--I'm sure I'll update soon. It will be an interesting week--Spring Break. I haven't had Jamie home for a week in awhile now, so it's like a new adventure again! I'm sure we'll do tons of puzzles (I think he has about 8-100 pc. and 2-300 pc. ones now)
Have a Happy Easter and take care.

Baseball...and other bits of life:)
So I know it's been more than two weeks, but baseball season has officially started...which means we live at the ball fields until June! Jamie's loving baseball and is doing well. I compare him to Ichiro (as far as batting is concerned)-not a real power hitter, but always gets on base with a single or double, and the occasional triple. He's also doing better at fielding and really paying attention to the ball and where it's going.
In the photo batting, I swear Jamie looks just like Jay Buhner

On April 1st, Jamie & his class went to the Build-A-Bear workshop for a field trip. He got to make a bear, and he named him Tom. Here are some photos from the field trip and then two of Jamie & Tom (Jamie is such a ham!)
School has been going well. I can't believe it's almost June! Jamie will be in first grade soon-yowza! He's still into Star Wars, Spongebob, and Marvel Heroes. He likes reading and math and I swear he's growing again. The exciting thing is summer is on it's way and Jamie gets to wear his favorite shorts--they're black plaid and he loves them.
James is doing fine. Just busy at work and getting ready for the big 3-0. Of course we're not having a party, but I will bake a cake and sing to him!
I'm doing wonderfully. Busy with work and baseball. I'll be up in Washington for a couple of days at the end of April to schedule some wedding stuff with Sarah. I can't believe it's getting so close. I'm sure the time will fly by once summer hits, so it will be nice to get the big things out of the way. I'm also posting a couple of good hair day pictures as well. I just recently found out how to "tame" my hair, so to speak. If I use a large barrel curling iron on dried, semi-curly hair--it turns out looking pretty cool. I finally figured it out, after 27 years....amazing. It only took me about 20 years to figure out make-up:) Thank goodness there's nothing else to figure out in that arena!
And now...I saved the *best* for last. Today, we got a phone call from Jamie's school--he was playing soccer in the gym (it was raining) and a girl from his class ran into a boy from his class who ran into Jamie and he in turn slammed his face into the gym floor. School called, said it was a little swollen, but he was okay. I asked them to give him Tylenol, then I got a phone call about three minutes later saying Jamie was in hysterics and the eye was even more swollen. So James & I headed up to the school and took a look. Boy, did he have a huge bump by his eye! Anyhow, we took him home, he took a nap, and a couple of hours after his fall, this is what his eye looked like. I'll definitely be taking more photos as this progresses, especially since it's been about an hour since I took these photos and it's already darker and rougher looking. As the principal said "Only Jamie." Yowie!
Until next time--take care everyone!
